Feel It
Desire bravely.
Welcome to the WORLD OF REX newsletter, where we dive into tips + tricks for navigating any astro-weather. Here’s what’s up May 5 - 19.

Astro-girlies,
It’s getting hot AND spicy in here, but resist coming in like a wrecking ball. If you haven’t already, check out this week’s pod, Feel It; we also cover next week’s transits with some sneak peeks on what’s coming in this Sunday’s episode!
BOOK A READING!
Schedule a reading with me to understand how each transit is hitting your chart. Taurus gets 25% off during their season, until May 20 🔮
The Basics
Remember that combustible Mars-Pluto opposition that rocked the end of April? If you had to stand up for yourself in the last two weeks, you might not be done. This week’s transits reactivate that energy through May 18, when we’ll finally see what’s dying to be reborn in our friendships, group connections, and societal power dynamics. Remember that Leo and Aquarius — where Mars and Pluto are, respectively — are fixed signs; brittle, they don’t bend, they break.
But it’s not bad, per se. Mars finally left his shadow on Friday, May 2, meaning no retrograde, just rockstar mode. Storylines that felt stuck since he was there in September, October and December will leap forward. What does your sense of joy want to accomplish?
Pluto in Aquarius is uncharted, futuristic, scary-hot, plotting rebellion on the margins (my NYC babies: picture that cyberpunk goth chick with the white contacts you saw in Bushwick last weekend). Sick of protesting? Push through: Pluto is building a whole new paradigm for the US, flattening what only serves the few (like, billionaires, maybe??) It’s at a glacial pace — he’s here till 2043, after all — but a pace nonetheless. Plus, Pluto went retrograde on Sunday, May 4, so at least the dizzying governmental changes that have been hitting your news feed since November 20 will start to slow.
Meanwhile, the Sun is sweetly in stable, sensual, practical Taurus — and so is Uranus, our chaotic-neutral overlord of change, zippy 90° turns, and shakin’ the snow globe just for fun. He’s been there since May 2019, yelling about how that comfort zone Taurus craves is a trap, trying to free us from habitual emotional loops before he finally moves into Gemini this July. Fittingly, Uranus also rules Aquarius; together, these forces propel us jarringly through sharp shifts in Taurean and Aquarian topics like currency, debt, and technology’s impact on the body.
On April 30, Venus entered fiery Aries after her very weird Pisces retrograde. The goddess of love is sunburned, hot, and bothered — she wants to fight, but as a love language? Spicy. Don’t hesitate about your heart; desire is your instinct.
Plus, Saturn moves into Aries on May 25 — time for a new batch of Saturn Returns, y’all! Basically, May is a wrap-up, pickle-on-top-of-the-sh*t-cake month before fresh Gemini energy rescues us in June.
Key Dates
Thursday, May 8: The Moon enters Libra and opposes all the planets in Aries: Venus, Neptune, Chiron, and Mercury. Reflect on last month’s Full Moon in Libra for callbacks. You may feel rebuffed in your relationships as power dynamics ebb and flow. Diplomacy is key.
Saturday, May 10: The Moon enters Scorpio as Mercury enters Taurus. Dank, dank, dank, and dark, baby. Cresting to a climax when it perfects on Monday, May 12, this makes the weekend an oozy, emo portal illuminating secrets from the depths of our psyche. Expect emotional revelations around the partner intimacies we share — resources, spaces, fluids.
Scorpios will be extra psychic at this time, but be mindful about the social webs you enter; they’ll be intense, even competitive. Water rituals keep your aura clear.
Saturday, May 17: The Sun conjoins Uranus in Taurus — the last cazimi of its kind for 80-some years — bringing uneasy changes and a desire for freedom that antagonize Taurus’ avoidant nature. Unexpected shifts in financial markets may occur.
Taurus and late-degree (26°) Leo and Aquarius get breakthroughs, but you will survive without that thing, fixed signs, trust me.
Sunday, May 18: Mercury in Taurus squares Mars in Leo, asking us to be assertive as we transform and leave some attachments behind. Honesty sews intimacy.

Rex’s Recs:
Do:
Savor your somatic experiences. Taurus knows nourishment is a birth right, not a reward.
Break the cycle. Rewrite inherited nervous system responses to trauma. Update your myth and reclaim your inner authority so you’re not run by fear.
Hug a fixed sign — Leo, Aquarius, Scorpio, Taurus. They need! it!
Show your cards. Follow your joy, proclaim what you want, love bravely, risk rejection for realness.
Take accountability, especially tomorrow with the Libra-Aries opposition.
Integrate what you’ve kept hidden on Monday, to honor that juicy Scorpio moon.
Don’t:
Judge — instead, can you be curious and observe?
Overconsume tech, where possible. Lay off the apps and touch grass, for real.
Rush into that intense conversation, if you can, until May 15.
Over-schedule May 12 to 15, so that Uranus has space to show you some unexpected magic.
Avoid necessary confrontations. Follow Mars: have the right fighting words, don’t drag sh*t out, but don’t be mean, either (yes, it’s possible).
Journaling Prompts:
Where have you outsourced your sense of safety or value? Could you relocate that within yourself?
Do your decisions empower you?
How has your relationship to your body changed since 2019? What do you want to do with it? Clumsy is okay if it’s honest.
Where do you become fixated in unhealthy ways?
What change can you affect from within your sphere of influence?
What needs to change — even break — in your life, especially around money and security?
Culture Corner
Listen: Trust me when I say Kae Tempest just has that new masculinity, Neptune in Aries vibe. Also a great time for Banks’ Serpentina, a cavernous, bare-skinned album that vacillates between sharp Uranian endings, endless, sometimes-scary Scorpionic devotion, and Martian proclamations of the self. Let her take you forth!
Watch:
The Fountain (2006) - A hero traverses life, death, and rebirth across several different time periods, navigating Uranian shifts.
Cloud Atlas (2012) - In the Uranus-Aquarius spirit, humans form connections to each other through time travel, forming era-defying networks: keys to the next evolution of humanity.
Annihilation (2018) - As much strange beauty as it is horror, this sci-fi trip follows soldiers unearthing mind-bending Plutonian secrets that threaten irreversible change.
Come see me in NYC for a live Q+A June 13 and 14!
I’ll be premiering a movie, HOUSE OF ABRAHAM (a spooky thriller, on theme with all this Scorpio gloom) during Pride Month in New York! You can learn more and get tickets here.
