BOOK A READING!
Schedule a reading with me to prep for these pivotal transits! Gemini gets 25% off during their season, until June 20 🔮
The Basics
Welcome summer in the Northern hemisphere! As promised, there’s fresh energy ahead, brought to us by big boy Jupiter.
For context: Jupiter is joyful, like Winnie the Pooh’s Tigger. Energetic, philosophical, and positive, he represents the wisdom of the universe and expands everything he touches. Jupiter influences the moral and ethical lens through which we interpret life, and encourages us to find happiness through freedom.
For those reasons, he loves to be in Sagittarius or Pisces — not so much Gemini, where he’s spent the last year (since May 25, 2024) in detriment. Jupiter seeks a universal truth; Gemini, like Libra, considers every angle equally and at once, flitting between realities, which can clash. Air sign hyper-logic also isn’t Jupiter’s preferred path to euphoria, as it can be way too in its head and disregard emotional information. Under this transit, it’s not a coincidence that the last year has been full of scattered dysfunction, especially under the reign of our self-contradicting Gemini president. Remember that diabolical “flood the zone” approach? Guess where they got that from.
All that chaos is acutely trying for Sagitarrius and Pisces; there’s simply been Too Much Info, concentrated in news overload, social media obsession, and tech (my editor is an AI journalist by day, and has confirmed that this has characterized the last year in an outsized way). Personally, you might’ve felt like you’ve been spinning too many plates or thinking in too many directions (I certainly have). It’s like being inspired to learn something new, but then spreading yourself too thin to absorb much (Sagittarius, Gemini’s opposite, takes a more direct, streamlined approach).
But on Monday (!!), all that changes when Jupiter moves into Cancer, another sign he loves to be in. Moving from air to water, mind to heart, we trade the overly noncommital for the emotional, directional, committed, even traditional. It’s gonna be all about feelings! Leaving Gemini’s verbal maze behind, this shift ushers in growth and expansion through compassion and emotional hygiene. Holding space for others and ourselves, we’ll turn to our familial and tribal connections and love more deeply. Cancer is the mother of the zodiac; there’s a maternal, womb-like nourishment in this transit that wants us to find strength in empathy. Cancers themselves often feel compelled to care for others as a way to feel needed, which ensures they’ll have a place to come home to.
Collectively, safety and security are front and center. Unchecked, nationalism can take over with Jupiter in Cancer (this transit was active in 2001, post-9/11 in the US, for example). But the more we integrate our disparate needs, the better we can embrace each other. A new global storyline is loading — your communities may change dramatically over the next year. Emotional needs and ambition may feel at odds as Saturn in Aries and Jupiter in Cancer coexist.
Key Dates
Today, June 6: Venus enters Taurus, her domicile! She loves it here. Relationships, sensuality, stability, beauty, self-care, and routine flourish. Trust the feeling of abundance: you deserve pleasure in this lifetime.
Tomorrow, June 7: The Moon in Scorpio squares Pluto in Aquarius and opposes Venus. That forms a T-square, or tense angle, that shoots into Leo. Spicy. Rage and money issues pop up, depleting our confidence. But whatever venom Pluto sucks to the top is medicinal! Relationship shocks create more freedom for everyone involved.
Monday, June 9: Jupiter enters Cancer and squares Saturn in Aries. The dominant planet, Saturn puts Aries in the lead, causing tension between emotional needs and ambitions. Healing through action is possible.
Cancer (especially risings, but also suns and moons): you’re in the spotlight. Your skills are especially relevant; big changes are headed your way.
June 11: A full moon in Sagittarius prompts us to seek bold freedom within the new paradigm set by Neptune and Saturn in Aries and Jupiter in Cancer.
June 15: Mars in Leo squares Uranus in Taurus, creating volatile, unexpected disruptions. Daredevil Mars meets trickster Uranus, pitting a desire to express ourselves (Leo) against a need for stability (Taurus).
Leo: don’t do anything rash, please.

Rex’s Recs:
Do:
Embrace contradiction. Live in the Venn diagram this weekend as Jupiter in Gemini wraps up; look through the many windows into truth. An authentic sense of self carries us through conflict and disagreement healthily. Be flexible in the face of contradiction — we don’t know what the right way forward is yet.
Clear your space. Feeling overwhelmed by the last vestiges of Gemini scatter? Channel the Virgo Moon from earlier this week and organize your room, clean your kitchen, and tend to your health.
Self-care. Venus in Taurus and Jupiter in Cancer support this: nurture your closest relationships, find comfort in a beautiful meal, watch your favorite show, invest in ways to love yourself more deeply.
Follow your gut. Cancer favors intuition.
Don’t:
Hold your beliefs in stone. Honor being a forever student as Jupiter in Gemini wraps up — can you go back to the drawing board?
Make huge decisions this weekend or next. Lean into the emotions Cancer pulls out, but seek clarity through them before acting. You’re going to want to bust out; resist.
Be reactive. Are you focusing on yourself to better integrate with society? Or using it as an excuse to isolate and get hypersensitive from within your crab shell? Cancer’s shadow can crave emotional intensity at all costs. Sit with uncomfortable feelings rather than lash out.
Fall into Cancer codependence. Individuating from your partner, friends, or family isn’t a threat. Rather than helicopter mom-ing, release the worry that our emotional safety is dependent on others’ actions. Love through conflict and disagreement; there’s freedom in emotional difference.
Spend a bunch of money the week of June 15. Avoid adding risk to an already risky environment of the Mars-Uranus square.
Journaling Prompts:
Reflect on the last year: what have you learned about your approach to life? Where have you been a student?
What stories do you tell yourself about yourself? How do they need to change?
What feels like home within you? Have you been too busy to rest your soul somewhere?
Do you love yourself? How can you do so more deeply over the next month? Sometimes, this means setting no or setting your own pace!
Are you helping yourself be seen? Are those around you receptive to that?
Culture Corner
Listen: Juicy, gorgeous Kali Uchis, a Cancer diva, encapsulates both Venus in Taurus and Jupiter in Cancer. Her Red Moon In Venus album fits perfectly here; it even sounds plush and cozy. While it focuses mostly on romantic love (and maintaining romantic standards, very Taurus), she definitely gives Mother, especially for the gays.
Watch:
Wild (2014): Reese Witherspoon throws herself into the deep end (Saturn and Neptune in Aries) as a woman trying to set her life back on track.
Dune: Part Two (2024): A new global order is quickly on its way as an increasingly masculine messiah (Neptune in Aries) rears his head under a determined mother’s watch (Jupiter in Cancer), pitting the emotions and ambitions of entire peoples against each other.
Come see me in NYC for a live Q+A June 13 and 14!
