Welcome to the WORLD OF REX newsletter, where we dive into tips + tricks for navigating this week’s transits. This week: we’re still deep in Scorpio, spelunking into the clandestine caves of our being… to call forth the light when all feels lost.
Hey Astro Fam,
Greetings from thee goth moment of the year - it’s time to get deep. Here’s what you need to know this week; you can find all the details in this Monday’s episode, Spelunking.
Hey! Scorpio suns and risings get 25% off readings until November 22 - book here!
The Basics
We start with incredibly good news: Venus, the goddess of love, money, and creativity, moves into her favorite sign of Libra this week. This will help ALL of us feel more peace in our relationships after a particularly destabilizing October. Reach out to your friends, make amends if need be, and try your best to understand where others are coming from. Venus will love you for it.
This week we gear up for a weekend new moon (new you) in the deep feeling water sign of Scorpio. New moons signify rebirths, and this new moon promises to be emotional, psychological, and disruptive to our old compulsions and/or obsessive behaviors. This is the END (bless) of eclipse season, and a major refresh button to help us absorb, process and transmute all of the crisis that October (aka Eclipse Season 2023) promised and certainly delivered on. This is a regular new moon, not an eclipse, so the changes are more subtle and allow us to develop more intimacy with the major relationship changes that took place in October. Think about what erupted in October from a relationship perspective, and now imagine how you can more thoroughly process these changes and apply fearlessness in the face of change itself. Scorpio is traditionally ruled by the planet Mars, which is the God of War, and therefore we need to go into our shadow qualities (and shadow relationship behaviors) like the spiritual warriors we are. Look at yourself and your relationships as if from under a microscope, and then give yourself time over the next two weeks to process the new (sometimes spooky) information that arises from the depths. Are you communicating in an explicit and respectful way?
During Scorpio season, which lasts until November 22nd this year, we are asked to face our shadow: our compulsions, obsessions, fixations, addictions and where we sometimes fudge the truth. When we shed light (or consciousness) on the shadow in us, the shadow aspects immediately transform. This elevation of consciousness changes us on a deep level, as we integrate parts of ourselves that were previously too painful to look at.
The new moon is opposite Uranus, the planet of chaos and revolution, which means that surprises and changes are coming in at light speed. Make sure to hydrate, eat grounding foods, and rest if you feel tired. This is NOT a time to push yourself or engage in fighting behavior. When in doubt, or when feeling overwhelmed, remember: GROUND. Here is an easy way to ground yourself, used by Navy Seals in the face of battle.
In the News
This new moon happens, coincidentally (or not), on the territory of Palestine’s Sun. The Sun of a country/territory rules its overall identity and sense of selfhood. No surprise that with Uranus present, major changes and revolutions mark the current phase of this land and its people. The core identity of Palestine is in flux (Uranus) and Scorpio is a sign that marks death and transformation. With Uranus in Taurus (Israel is a Taurus Sun), there can be surprising or rapidly changing behavior from open enemies and/or allies. And with Venus, the goddess of love, entering Libra (the sign of Peace) mid-week this week, we may see help to Palestine’s people by positively changing the tactics of Israel to help save civilians on the ground. These are small wins of peace, of which we should all be grateful, but the battle is far from over given the nature of the Aries-Libra eclipses (the signs of war & peace) leading all the way into January of 2025.
Rex’s Recs:
Do:
Take some quiet time to sit with your shadow qualities (reserve judgement, just accept and breathe into feelings of discomfort)
Engage in ritual, occult practices, sex magic, especially over the weekend
Make amends with friendship or relationship fallouts if it feels right (radical accountability + apologizing can go a long way here)
Don’t:
Create unnecessary conflict because you feel ungrounded— remember: breath deep, hydrate, and hit the pause button on conversations if they heat up too quickly
Spend too much time on your electronic devices or obsess on social media
Journaling Prompts:
What are parts of myself that I struggle to look at?
What if I investigated and chose to accept all the parts of me that feel confusing, paradoxical, or scary?
Are there relationships in my life that I need to take radical accountability for and what is the first step towards making amends?
Am I doing something daily to ground into my body? Are there more things I can do to ground into my divine vessel?
