The Basics
Last week’s Full Moon was exact, sharp and dual-natured — at 13° of Gemini, opposite the Sun at 13° of Sagittarius, with both squaring the Lunar Nodes at 13° of Pisces and Virgo. A square is a dynamic, catalytic tension: it doesn’t hand you a solution, but confronts you with a problem you have to solve through doing. That geometry drags up old, half-forgotten hinge moments; faded change points from September return again. What were they there for? Do they still belong in our trajectory?
Full moons put what’s been incubating into the spotlight. A Full Moon that squares the nodes doesn’t just spotlight the present, it points to karmic seams — moments where a choice was made (or nearly made) and then quietly shelved. Decisions half-implemented, opportunities tabled, a version of ourselves we almost became. When the Moon and Sun square the North Node in Virgo and South Node in Pisces, the cosmos is asking: Which of those half-changes do you need to complete? Which do you need to release?
Expect sudden clarity about the why behind patterns that have been humming under the surface of your life. The feeling can be melancholy — grief for a possibility unexplored — but also mercifully clarifying: this is your chance to pick a direction with clearer eyes. Notice where your heart is stuck in past templates, and to choose either to finish the old story properly — or to ceremonially close it and move toward another beat.
Mercury in Scorpio rules this Gemini Full Moon. The operating system beneath the lunar glare, it’s a deep, unscrambling mind: it smells secrets, traces hidden causes, excavates motive and memory. This placement makes the Full Moon less about small talk and more about interrogation — of self, of relationship, of the narrative you’ve been telling. The mind will want to pry up the boards where the old change points are nailed down. But what you’ll find there aren’t final judgments — they’re raw materials for rebirth.
All of that info sets the stage for this week’s quickening tension: now, we take action. Mars in Sagittarius, a determined warrior, is ready to jump into new truths, but Saturn in Pisces — who’s been hard at work slowing our horses since March 2023 — holds him back in battle. It’s the final square between these two for the next 28 years as Saturn prepares to leave Pisces in February, so you know it’s gonna be spicy. Be prepared to pivot or even feel stopped in your tracks. We can’t just run into the sunset alone; we’re asked to acknowledge what we owe each other spiritually.
Our emotional history impacts how we pursue truth — you may witness yourself or others in fragile places in a week that feels entirely like gridlock. Expect disappointment, especially for my Sagittarii. Take blocks as helpful ways to shape your approach. Channel your drive into a higher purpose: does your ambition serve only your ego, or can it accomplish a bigger goal? Let discomfort lead you to freedom.
Key Dates
Thursday, Dec 4: A Full Moon in Gemini squared the North and South nodes, tugging on attachment patterns and instinctual responses. Old safety strategies (Piscean numbness, dissociation, escapism) or neat-but-rigid coping (Virgo’s obsession with control) are up for reappraisal.
Monday, Dec 8: Mars in Sagittarius squared Saturn in Pisces, like David running smack into Goliath (not easy). The archer rejects illusion or addiction and is ready for a clarifying struggle with Saturn’s spiritual reality check.
Today, Dec 10: Mercury in Scorpio opposes Uranus in a final revelation — potentially unfolding shocking new info.
Friday, Dec 12: Mercury moves into Sagittarius — we finally begin a journey of new truths based on what the depths of Scorpio showed us.
Rex’s Recs:
Do:
Embrace shadow conversation. With Mercury in Scorpio, a single honest conversation can be catalytic. Choose one person or one inner voice and speak a truth you’ve been avoiding.
Closure rituals. Place a written description of a faded change point on your altar (or a safe place) and burn or bury it with the intention to either complete or release it.
Conduct a somatic check: Find where the tension sits in your body (gut, throat, chest). Breathe, move, and let the Moon’s illumination move the stuck charge.
Say it out loud. If you’ve been waiting for language to name a thing — an old pattern, a secret longing, the precise compromise that’s been eating you — Mercury in Scorpio will hand it to you. Use it. Write it down. Speak it into a safe witness.
Acts of service. Lean into Saturn in Pisces’ energy and show up no matter how hard it is, especially if there’s no reward.
Don’t:
Get stuck in dogmatic behavior, especially my Sagittarii, once again!
Rush ahead without internal maturity. Are you regulated for the task or conversation at hand? Do you have patience to hold yourself and others at the same time?
Burn yourself out. The astro-weather can be very fatiguing, especially today and tomorrow — don’t push yourself through it this week.
Talk more than you listen.
Journaling Prompts:
Write down all the “almosts” — choices you began but abandoned. What would finishing this look like? What would releasing it look like?
What new truths are emerging?
Is your energetic signature contributing to a dynamic? If what happened to you this year is the product of your thoughts, what does 2025 reveal about your thinking? Does your internal dialogue serve or limit you?

Watch:
The Novice (2021): Alex (Mars in Sagittarius) obsessively pursues competitive rowing, getting several reality checks in the process from self-destructive limits
The Karate Kid (1984): This classic screams Mars in Sagittarius, with Mr. Miyagi giving us a perfect Saturn in Pisces: disciplined, fatherly, sometimes harsh, always paving the right path.
