BOOK A READING!
Schedule a reading with me to prep for your Saturn Return! Gemini gets 25% off during their season, until June 20 🔮
The Basics
Time to talk Saturn Return, babies: a whole new cohort of you start yours on Saturday, when Saturn enters Aries! 🔥
If a Brooklyn girl in a bar bathroom line hasn’t already given you the download: roughly every 28 years (about 3 times in a lifetime), Saturn comes back to the position it was in when you were born and spends about 3.5 years in that sign. Everyone’s first Saturn Return, which occurs around our late twenties, is a get-real, grow-up moment that kicks us out of infancy over that 3.5 year period. Yes, Returns map pretty cleanly onto what we know as human life crises (quarter-life, mid-life, and end-of-life).
Saturn asks if we’re willing to really work for what we want. Structural, rule-oriented, and time-bound, he reminds us we don’t have forever to toil in our karma, embodying our shelf life. What we are here to learn? If he finds you’re not aligned with your higher purpose, he’ll nudge you into place: swift changes, shocking revelations, breakups, breakthroughs, lessons, international moves, career shifts, you name it. Saturn is demanding, shoving our noses to the grindstone, but it’s for our own good.
He’s been in Pisces since March 2023 — for those of you with Saturn in Pisces, congratulations! Save for a brief retrograde this winter, you’re almost through the melancholic wringer of the last two years. The end of the zodiac, Pisces is marked by death, grief, loss, longing, spirituality, with a shadow of victimhood. Sagittarius, Gemini, and Virgo were hit especially hard, since Pisces squares your signs, creating a tense crisis of action. But as Saturn enters Aries, shedding all that abstract Pisces whining, the summer breathes fresh life into your story.
I highly recommend Saturn Return readings, even for nonbelievers! Book here.
Ruled by Mars, Aries is immediate, waking us from spiritual malaise and addictions to comfort and fantasy. Where Pisces ponders, Aries acts. This new paradigm will be painful — with Neptune and Chiron, our collective wound, also in Aries, our whole society is navigating disillusionment around masculinity, identity, and the self. We’re on an accelerated timeline to figure our sh*t out and be decisive with an almost militaristic discipline. Especially off last week’s Scorpio lunation, don’t think: just do it.
On a world stage, Pisces rules immigration and emigration; it’s no surprise we’ve seen xenophobic policies, vitriolic neocon agendas, and renewed conflict at the intersections of land, movement, and spirituality spread. Issues activated under Pisces will shift profoundly — even find resolutions — as Saturn enters Aries.
Meanwhile, we find ourselves refreshingly in Gemini season! Flirtatious, androgynous Mercury is this sign’s ruler; a fast talker and faster think, this enby loves to flit about. Alongside Saturn in Aries, this makes us ready to share as we turn from inner thoughts to outer expression. Reflect on the last Mercury retrograde, March 14 to April 7, which started in Aries and slid back into Pisces, clarifying our Saturnian dream. What do you want that will require courage?
Key Dates
Yesterday, May 20: The Sun entered Gemini this week for flirts and chats after a heavy, change-filled Taurus season. Stay curious.
Tomorrow, May 22: Venus in Aries trines Mars in Leo. A sexy, positive aspect between the divine lovers, this is all groove — creative flow, connection, even pregnancy are supported, putting an enthusiastic tone on the weekend. Communicate and pursue romance.
Saturday, May 24: Saturn enters Aries!! A potent new beginning, this emphasizes self discipline and radical accountability. The Moon will be at 29° of Aries, or the anoretic degree, when Saturn enters at 0°, a wink from the universe about what’s to come.
Aries (sun, moon, and rising): this is biggest for you. Step into leadership, especially for the voiceless, the underdog.
Libra, Cancer, and Capricorn, don’t tune out: this calls all Cardinal signs in.
Monday, May 26: The Moon and Mercury enter Gemini, Mercury’s domicile, sharpening our minds. We’ll get fresh starts on threads we felt passionate about in early spring, but which lost momentum during Mercury’s retrograde into Pisces. Channel your inner youth, be playful.
Thursday, May 29: The Sun conjoins Mercury for a cazimi in Gemini. Logical breakthroughs land through writing, speaking, and publishing. Trust your intuition, follow your body’s wisdom: crystal clear dialogue between ego and self is possible. What truths emerge?

Rex’s Recs:
Do:
See your life as a chess board. Work with change, be adaptable. A beginner’s mind helps you stay curious and nimble; be a student.
Strengthen your ego. Positive reinforcement goes a long way under Aries — tell yourself you can do it, channel that blind masculine confidence.
Take note of what happens Saturday and Sunday, especially in the material realm. Something big is locking in over the first 15 days of June, mostly for Cardinal signs.
Meditate on the 24th. Feeling witchy? Call in clarity on your higher arc and purpose under Saturn’s powerful shift. Be delusional about what you want: he’ll provide.
Set intentions on the 29th towards all the Gemini energy. Write out your ritual or truth into a mantra. Start a new skill or project, take a class, learn a new language.
Don’t:
Get in your head with Gemini. Mercury can hyper-activate the mind.
Stifle creativity and passion this week. Let Venus trine Mars carry you, get loose.
Forget the collective. Aries needs us to assert our individuality, not succumb to selfishness. The singular is always attached to the plural.
Talk down to yourself. Check your internal monologue hygiene, especially Gemini and Virgo — does your speech support you and others?
Journaling Prompts:
Where have you had to apply lots of effort or felt blocked when it comes to Pisces topics: spirituality, flow state, grief?
What’s wrapping up in your personal life as Saturn moves forward? Consider last week’s Full Moon in Scorpio and what it illuminated.
Are you being yourself? Are you taking full accountability for yourself and how you express that person to the world?
What’s your shadow work?
Where are you abandoning yourself in order to maintain a victim narrative?
Emotionally locate yourself. What is your hero’s journey in this lifetime?
What emotions are you avoiding and why?
Culture Corner
Listen: FKA Twigs’ Eusexua feels so right here. It’s got Twigs’ signature Aquarian cyber-weirdness (to signify that Pluto world we’re freshly in), an Aries-like directness and drive, a sexual euphoria and androgyny that Venus, Mars, and Mercury adore, and structured club beats that make training hard under Saturn’s eye easy, like celebration towards a common goal — especially if we’re just dancing together.
Watch:
Austin Powers (1997) - Use your mojo to save the world. Thursday’s trine helps us get our sexy on — but Saturn quickly demands we stop partying and put our flow state to good use. The stakes are high, even for a comedy (Dr. Evil is Pluto in Aquairus/Elon Musk, obviously).
The Karate Kid (1984) - Saturn in Aries is like Mr. Miyagi, leading us through grunt work boot camp before we get to fly. What are you becoming a master of under his guidance?
G.I. Jane (1997) - Very Venus and Mars, femininity vs. masculinity, redefining each in relation to the other. A female soldier is forced, often unfairly, to prove herself — but of course does, with flying colors. Gemini’s androgyny, Aries’ fire, and Saturn’s militant determinism collide.
